There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes…
As you all know (or at least should) our family trade is that of Goldsmiths and there are plenty of us who continue to uphold that tradition. At the same time, our community is full of members who have their fingers in a lot more pies and none is more rewarding than those pies being in aid of helping those less fortunate than ourselves
That’s why iPattni are more than happy to profile an upcoming event which is being supported and promoted by our very own member Minaxi Pattni (known by many as Mini)
‘Dancing to Krishna’s Tune’ is being held on Sunday 20th October 2013 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan from 5pm onwards and tickets are still available. ‘Dancing to Krishna’s Tune’ is a solo Kathak performance being presented by a disciple of Sri Abhay Shankar Mishra, Janaki Mehta
The evening, which kicks off with a dinner at 5pm, followed by the performance at 6.30pm is in aid of Food for Life Vrindavan – a charity located in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The charity was established in 1990 and began with evening meal distributions for street kids and over the years has increased to a number of small projects including the digging of water wells, tree planting, organic farming, cleaning, trash recycling, medical help, cow protection – all basic essentials for any society.
However, their main focus has been to educate girls; the charity run schools which houses many girls who live in slum areas or villages.
The schools provide all essential skills to girls to help them learn, grow and reach their true potential.
Tickets for this event are £15 (£20 including dinner) and your support will make all the difference. You can book online or call 07936 895 345
